What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist Z2 position at Simple Laboratories?
Simple Laboratories is looking for a Mobile Phlebotomist that will serve an integral role in our phlebotomy team. This position allows our phlebotomist to travel to multiple facilities servicing mainly a geriatric population for routine, fasting, time-sensitive and STAT draws and collection.
WORK SHIFTS:
10:30am-6:30pm/ Monday to Friday, rotating weekends.
4am-12pm/ Monday to Friday, rotating weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to assess geriatric patients. Perform venipunctures and other specimen collection according to policy and procedures.
- Completes required paperwork including requisitions and collection list.
- Ensures specimen obtained by the client are collected in proper container and labeled appropriately with two patient identifiers.
- Process and prepare specimens according to testing guidelines, including centrifuging, light protecting, freezing, ext.
- Complete and pick-up specimens collected by the client, from the facilities in assigned route.
- Transport specimens to a designated drop location within the coverage area.
- Document and communicate phlebotomy staff errors.
- Establish standards and tracking service to ensure clients are satisfied.
- Collaborates with other departments to provide the best care possible.
- Notify Supervisor of supply needs and issues in the field.
- Utilizes required proper protective equipment.
- Maintains a clean and healthy work environment.
- Consistent communication with dispatch operators (twenty-minute limit for responding to messages.)
- Communicates delays, hard sticks, and rejections to the dispatch team.
- Notify dispatch when draws need to be rescheduled.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Detail oriented.
- Completion of phlebotomy training program with proof of certification
- 1 year of experiences as a phlebotomist
- 1 years of experience with geriatric population
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Clean driving record for last 5 years
- Proof of current liability insurance
- Proficient in using a smart phone.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a passion towards safety and Customer Service
