Summary
The Digital Sales Advisor will provide technical support to the SGS Crop Advisors and other sales and support staff to maximize the Company's effort to capitalize on the potential of Precision Agriculture. Provide technical support to the sales team. Assess the need for continued education and provide training in Ag Technology areas. Integrate IT advances into SGS sales force to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services. Responsible for mapping including; generating prescription maps, field maps, variable rate irrigation prescriptions, yield analysis, and boundary creation. Making recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis. Assist the SGS Crop Advisors with soil sampling, collection of EC/EM data. Maintain Precision Ag equipment and make recommendations to customers regarding Precision Ag equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support to SGS Crop Advisors and support staff on Precision Ag Technology. Provide any needed IT technical support. Integrate IT advances into SGS sales force to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services.
- Train and administer SmartFarm Platform: Administer scouting, trapping, and sampling activities.
- Responsible for mapping including; generating prescription maps, field mapping, variable rate irrigation prescriptions, yield analysis, and boundary creation. Making recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis.
- Perform on-farm field trials, interpret satellite imagery, and collect and analyze yield information.
- Support variable rate applications for fertilizer and seed. Manage and translate irrigation sensor data.
- Maintains Precision Ag equipment and makes recommendations to customers regarding equipment. Design and collection of test plot data. Drive adoption of sales enablement tools as constructed.
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a 4-year college or university, preferred in agronomy or ag business (Equivalent experience of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role).
Relevant Experience
- 2 years of experience and/or training
Other Information
- This is an entry level professional position in the area of Precision Agriculture.
- 4 year degree preferred in computer science or agronomy.
- Must have some agronomic experience.
- 2 years of related experience or training.
- Position will require traveling up to 25% of the time.
- Strong computer background and skills.
