We are looking for an experienced and responsible Factory Maintenance Manager to join our team. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire Maintenance department and coordinating the activities that keep our production assets in working order. You will be tasked with managing, purchasing, and installing capital equipment while coordinating with the Director of Manufacturing on project and plant priorities.
Duties include:
- Direct and manage all activities of the Maintenance Department, delegating work, addressing malfunctions, and resolving all mechanical problems.
- Prioritize repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Work with internal and external vendors to complete projects such as major repairs and asset upgrades.
- Ensure proper training of all maintenance technicians to provide a safe, quality-conscious working environment.
- Formulate plans to upgrade systems and reduce operating costs.
- Assist with plant layouts relating to capital asset installation.
- Write capital equipment requests and ROI.
- Assist in documenting production processes for the equipment.
- Manage outside vendors and technicians for janitorial, landscape and HVAC services and ensure that all safety rules are being followed.
- Act as technical “go to” person for Maintenance issues.
- Appraise performance of Maintenance Department staff.
Requirements:
- 3 years Maintenance management in a manufacturing environment.
- Engineering experience a plus
- BA/BS Degree preferred or AA /AS degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools, AutoCAD, and other proprietary software.
- Experience implementing Total Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance in a Lean manufacturing plant is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents pertaining to operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and safety rules.
- Ability to analyze and solve technical and mechanical issues.
- Ability to understand and manage capital budgets.
- Ability to manage, coach, and mentor technical personnel.
- Ability to apply higher math formulas and functions to process and engineering problems.
- Ability to manage outside vendors in various trades for capital projects.
- Experience in capital project management of complex production equipment requiring infrastructure planning and writing capital project requests, including the development of ROI’s.
- Experience implementing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) applications and using them to drive TPM is preferred.
- Ability to interpret product specification data.
- Knowledge of basic computer programming, CNC theory, computer, and control system architecture a plus.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in identifying root cause analysis, developing a plan, and implementing solutions.
