DESCRIPTION

As our Food Services Manager, you'll oversee the entire kitchen operations for multiple Mercy branches, ensuring top-notch quality in food preparation ensuring appropriate dietary concerns are addressed from the different branches. From staff management to budgeting, your role will be pivotal in creating a safe, clean, and hospitable environment for our entire community.
Responsibilities:
- Must obtain CA food service manager certification within 30 days
- Spanish speaker is highly preferred
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing direction, training, and performance feedback
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the kitchen
- There are many facets to this role. Organization is a must.
- Plan and execute multiple nutritious and appealing menus, catering to special dietary needs
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and budgeting for food and supplies
- Must be available for all Mercy events.
- May need to put last minute gatherings together.
- Attendance and participation is required for all meetings
- Some employees and Sisters my have very specific needs. May need to follow strict menu and or guidance until you are comfortable enough with role to create alternate menus
- Be open to feedback from multiple sources and address that feedback with a service mindset
- Must work a flexible schedule that may include weekends evening
- An attitude of accountability is key.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and service excellence among staff members
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and infection control procedures
- Must understand and embrace the Sisters of Mercy culture
Qualifications:
- 4 years experience of supervision in a restaurant, hotel or institutional settings Assisted Living or Schools.
- Must be familiar with preparing meals for special dietary needs
- Must have experience preparing multiple menus for different groups simultaneously
- Spanish Speaker
- Events or retreat style experience
- Excellent computer skills. Needs Outlook and Excel proficiency
- ServSafe certification preferred. A food service manager certification preferred
- Ability to operate food preparation machinery and work independently
- Service-oriented mindset and compassionate communication style
