Maintenance Technician

Come join us at Skaff Apartments! We have a full-time opening in Moorhead, MN for a Maintenance Technician. This position requires our team member to be able to perform physical duties. Work duties include grounds keeping - all seasons, utilizing hand tools, completing maintenance work orders, unit turns, ability to do general repairs and assisting in the removal of old appliance and installation of new as well as other tasks that may be required. The ideal candidate must have their own tools. Must be able to be on call at times and some weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform light carpentry, minor electrical, and plumbing tasks
• Maintain boiler and HVAC services
• Complete turns, work orders, maintenance inspections, and oversight of assigned buildings
• Manage stock parts and equipment needed for job
• Sweep/blow sidewalks and driveways
• Execute snow plowing when needed
• Maintain all tools, lawn, and snow removal equipment
• Ensures decisions made and work completed represent Skaff Apartments Culture
• Additional projects as needed

Core Competencies

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
• Ability to relate to managers, staff and public in a courteous manner
• Ability to acquire job skills with three months of on-the-job training
• Must be dependable, practice good communication, and manage time well

Education and/or Experience:

• 1-3 years of maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to supply own tools
• HVAC, Boilers License is preferred but not required
• Background check will be required
• Must have reliable transportation - Driver’s License Required

Work Environment:

• Physical demands include walking and standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, push and pull objects, lift and move objects repetitive bending and lifting
• Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow

Hours:

8:30am-5:30pm

Monday -Friday with Occasional Weekends

On–call on a rotational basis

Full-Time – 40 hours
