Skamania proudly features 23 state-of-the-art meeting rooms with over 22,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, including exhibit and banquet facilities. Our flexible meeting space ranges in size from 250 square feet for intimate gatherings to 7,000 square feet, accommodating food and beverage functions for up to 500 people. With an additional 175 acres of outdoor adventures waiting, there is no better place to lead the sales efforts. Overview:
- Hire, schedule, train, and supervise all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for various types of service styles.
- Define performance requirements, develop action plans for achievement of goals, and monitor staff performance.
- Supervise the set up of function rooms to include placement of linen, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications; visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set up.
- Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of function with the Culinary, Service, Beverage, Meetings and Conventions, and Engineering staffs, as well as the host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations along with corporate standards.
- Mentor Jr. Assistant Banquet Manager
- This is a large team and a large resort with many different events and venues around the property at any time. This requires great stamina and ability to strategize and execute the most efficient coordinations and physical oversite in some grassy areas, outdoors, indoor evemts from 5 to 500.
- Comfortable with managing and documenting of banquet team employee relations, up to and including terminations working closely with HR to drive better performance managment and acountability.
- Report to Banquet Manager and Director of Food and Beverage. Support staff includes Jr. Assistant Manager, Sr. Banquet Captain, 4 Captains, and Team Leads. Oversite of Seasoned Banquet Set Up Team, Banquet Servers, Banquet Bartenders.
- This is a seasonal resort that does see a down time from Jan-April and requires offering support and strategic staffing for those months to manage budget and associate retentions.
Education:
Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; High school diploma required; College degree preferred.
Experience:
Four years as Assistant Banquet Management or food and beverage supervisory experience required.
Licenses or certificates:
Ability to obtain any and all licenses and certificates;MAST and Food Handlers Card, Washington State, CPR certification and First Aid training provided
Schedule: This is a 24-7, 365 day a year hospitality position that will require some work during nights, weekends and holidays. Must have a flexible schedule that can move between shifts and days as needed to provide best coverage for managing events and banquet team.
Compensation Range: The compensation for this position is $67,250.00/Yr. - $72,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
