Maintenance Tech

SKILLS, Inc. supports adults with developmental disabilities to live and work as independently as possible. We are currently seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician based in Palmyra. Regular work schedule is Monday - Friday and a rotation of on call for after hours needs of Maintenance-related emergencies which may require evening/weekend/holiday hours. Additional overtime based on agency needs, including snow plowing, will be required.

Responsibilities of the position include routine facilities and grounds maintenance including lawn mowing, landscaping and snow removal, as well as minor carpentry, painting, minor plumbing and electrical work at all SKILLS locations throughout Central Maine. Attention to safety and detail are a must.

Position requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, valid Maine drivers’ license with a clean driving history, basic computer skills, and the willingness to undergo an extensive criminal history and other background and reference checks as required. Preference will be given to candidates having a background in facilities maintenance including experience operating a zero turn lawn mower and snow plowing.

Pay range is $14.50 to $20.15 with a generous benefits package including 100% employer-paid health insurance, vacation and sick time accrual, holiday pay, life insurance, and employer-matching 403(b) plan.
