What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Specialist position at Skyline Composite?
We are seeking an HR Specialist to join our team! You will perform activities in human resources from recruiting new hires to retaining existing hires.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruiting process for all blue-collar manufacturing.
- Support the day-to-day HR related activities, including data analysis, internal communications, compensation and benefits, absenteeism management, and disciplinary procedures with the Plant Leadership Team.
- Manage weekly Payroll & Time / Attendance functions for manufacturing employees and process weekly payroll.
- Be present on the manufacturing floor daily, to have an in-depth understanding of the issues, employee needs, business needs and have an eye for improvement opportunities.
- On-board and train new employees.
- Implement company culture, values and policies.
- Provide management with requested reports and documents.
- Coordinate events focused on employee recognition.
- Accurately maintain employee files.
- Performs benefits administration, including enrollment, claims resolution, change / approval updates, Cobra notices, and communicating benefits information to employees.
The ideal candidate has a background in Human Resources, and 5 years working in an HR function directly in a manufacturing plant. Candidate must also:
- Must be skilled in processing payroll, time & attendance, and US Labor regulations regarding pay practices.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve day-to-day issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Good listening and communication skills, with both factory workers and Plant Leadership Team.
- Ability to maintain confidential information, while solving problems.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to build rapport with all employees.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual - English / Spanish is a plus.
The successful candidate MUST be comfortable working daily in a manufacturing facility.
