General Summary:
Provides a variety of teller activities such as processing of transactions. Responsible for providing excellent member service, referring Credit Union's products and services, balancing each day’s transactions and verifying cash totals. Responds to questions and/or provides information upon request from members (internal and external). Processes requests/transactions, as appropriate. Assists members and potential members in understanding and utilizing the Credit Union's products and services.
Major Responsibilities:
Greets member and gives prompt, efficient, and accurate service. Processes all transactions for members, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash advances, cashier checks, transfers in person, via telephone, mail or fax. Balances each day's transactions and verifies cash totals. Completes branch end-of-day balancing. Verifies all deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability. Cashes checks and processes withdrawals from shares/loans upon verification of identification and member account balances.
1. Provides excellent member service
2. Processes all transactions efficiently and accurately (cash, checks and all other negotiable instruments)
3. Assists members with account questions.
a. Processes name and address changes, check orders, statement print outs, direct deposit requests, and other basic member service requests.
b. Ensures that all information given and/or transactions processed follow Credit Union or regulatory policy/procedure.
4. Performs daily settlement and assists in branch balancing.
5. Balances and settles ATM, TCR and Coin Vault.
6. Refers and cross-sells products and services that meet member needs and directs to appropriate person/department. Achieves individual sales goals.
7. Utilizes tact and experienced-based knowledge to resolve member (internal and external) problems by explaining specific policies and products. Represents the Credit Union in a professional manner. Maintains positive member relations.
8. Assists in the training of new tellers as needed. May float from one branch to another.
10. Orders branch supplies and stocks/replaces forms, brochures, etc. as needed.
