Job Description
As a Materials Support 2, you will perform the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, deliver, and pick up, stamp and process mail and packages.
- Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
- Lifts heavy items, transfers materials with golf cart to multiple sites and may operate a forklift.
- Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
- Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
- Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
- Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments.
Required Experience and Skills
High school diploma, or equivalent, with at least two years of related experience.
Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening and taking instructions
Ability to understand directions and adhere to established procedures
Ability to stand for long periods of time, drive a golf cart and lift up to 50 lbs
Basic computer knowledge and skills including MS Office Suite
Dependable team player
Preferred Experience and Skills :
Experience with shipping software and SAP preferred.
