What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Technician position at Sloan?
Sloan has an immediate opening for a Test Technician I in our Andover, MA facility. In this role you will perform a variety of hydraulic plumbing tests and basic mechanical testing while utilizing a small variety of electronic instrumentation.
Responsibilities Include
- Author testing conclusions based upon testing results, and use some initiative in diagnosing results that may have been biased for unknown reasons
- Safely operate high pressure and high flow equipment , and follow prescribed testing protocols in the performance of the testing
- Seek direction from the Test Engineers in the group as needed.
- Perform specific testing of non standard tests per the Senior Executive team,.
- Maintain operation and documentation of the life cycle test equipment
- Perform a variety of standard tests as requested of the Sales & Marketing, New Product Development, Quality Assurance and Manufacturing teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year relevant experience preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- General experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Ability to safely maneuver large bulk fixtures in excess of 50 lbs
- Basic plumbing knowledge and working knowledge of flushometers preferred
- Familiarity with small tools and drill presses
- Experience with data acquisition software such as Lab View preferred
- Familiarity with electronic hardware and software testing preferred
- Knowledge of basic geometry
