Launched in NYC in late October of 2019, Sloomoo Institute has been an enormous success, attracting over 1 million guests and billions of media impressions. We have four locations and a fifth opening in LA in the late summer. Even more, slime play is known to support stress relief as much as it does your imagination! Position Summary

The role of porter is critical to the success of Sloomoo. The porters will work under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor and in collaboration with the Managers on Duty and assist with the physical upkeep and maintenance of the facility. The ideal candidate is a highly capable and dedicated team member who is able to fulfill basic building and attraction maintenance work as well as maintain the cleanliness of upkeep of the facility. Porters keep the venue and production areas clean, safe and in mint condition.

Responsibilities:

• Washes windows and mirrors.
• Takes out the trash and recycling.
• Wipes down and sanitizes surfaces.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks restrooms.
• Handles leaf and snow removal as needed.
• Follows instructions from the facilities supervisor.
• Sweeps, mops, polishes, and vacuums floors.
• Mows lawns, waters plants, and removes litter.
• Uses common cleaning tools and outdoor power equipment.
• Organizes the janitor closet and stores all supplies and tools.
• Completes minor repairs, like switching light bulbs and unclogging toilets.
• Notifies the Facilities Supervisor when major repairs are needed.
• Fills out checklists at the end of every shift.
• Locks the doors at the end of night shifts.
• Follows safety rules and precautions.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures
• Keeping the site clean.
• Receiving positive reviews about the facility.
• Anticipating team needs for supplies.
• Works well independently and has strong time management skills.
• Follows written and verbal instructions from supervisors..
• Collaborates with other porters and maintenance workers as needed.
• Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing and walking for most of the shift, bending, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Other Duties as assigned by management
• Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 Experience as porter in hospitality, restaurant or other relevant industry
• Requires flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
