The Accounting Clerk's responsibilities include working closely with internal and external stakeholders to perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and prepare accounting statements and financial reports. This position requires work performed in a dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of accounting and administrative tasks for multiple divisions.
- Provides support for clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping functions.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of documentation.
- Coordinates with accounts receivable specialist on billable items.
- Prepares monthly journal entries.
- Post cash transactions.
- Maintains physical and digital filing systems.
- Retrieves information as requested from records, emails, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
- Research as requested and compile and summarize information for reports or presentations.
- Responds to and resolve accounting and clerical inquiries and questions.
- Works closely with other accounting staff and supports other colleagues as needed.
- Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational, time management skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- College Degree preferred.
- Three to five years of related experience required.
Physical Demands:
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 15 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
