Smiles & More Family Dentistry is located in West Lafayette, IN. Dr. Sharma acquired the practice in January 2023. It is a well established practice that used to be Mohr and Mohr Smiles Dentistry.

Job Description:
The Patient Care Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to monitor and manage the dental schedule for Dr. Sharma and communicate efficiently and effectively with patients about all scheduled appointments and treatment.
We have two full-time Patient Care Coordinators at the office on all working days.
The Patient Care Coordinator will also perform general front office duties for the dental department as well as maintain all insurance verification and eligibility.
This position also assists patients with the processing of dental insurance claims and management of relationships with insurance carriers. Contacts insurance companies and patients regarding coverage determinations and outstanding balances. Sets up any financial arrangements and collects payments from patients and insurance companies. Works directly with third party insurance billing team, Elevate, to ensure all outstanding insurance claims are managed efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma / Bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous work experience at a Dental office is preferred.
Knowledge of Dentrix software is a strong positive.
Position Responsibilities/Primary Duties:
- Understand insurance benefits and confidently educate patients on their dental benefits
- Manage pending claims with third party elevate; be the bridge of communication between patients and elevate for all insurance related issues/questions
- Monitor monthly reports, such as the aging report & insurance pending claims report
- Verify patient balances with insurance explanation of benefits & send monthly statements to patients via mail/electronically
- Follow up consistently with any unpaid balances over 60 & 90 days
- Track monthly credit report to verify and refund and necessary patient overpayments after insurance payments have been received
- Update annual fee schedule changes within Dentrix to ensure proper patient estimates and maintain proper practice projections
- Track all patient pre-determinations & ensure information is communicated to patient to increase practice production
- Maintain office billing system and complete payments on time
- Assist with phone intake calls for new patients, emergency patients, current patient concerns & scheduling needs
- Take on special projects as needed for Dr. Sharma and staff
