About The Role:
The Sales Trainer will help maintain a strategic, cross-functional discipline designed to increase performance and productivity by providing integrated content, training and coaching for the Sales team. This role will be responsible for delivering training, designing learning content, and helping manage existing enablement programs that support all Sales roles in order to effectively promote revenue growth.
This position requires excellent communication skills and a high degree of creativity, self-motivation, and autonomy. You will need to accommodate both macro- and micro-level needs to identify specific training needs at the team and individual level.
You will be an ambassador and conduit of Smith.ai’s principles and values, preparing new sales reps to thoughtfully represent our world-class organization through their public-facing role.
A successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, have strong attention to detail, and possess a high level of emotional intelligence. They thrive in a fast-paced environment. This candidate will demonstrate strong business judgment and be skilled at breaking down complex, high-level ideas into executable deliverables. The role requires an individual who can see around corners, anticipate needs, and solve possible problems before they happen. Excellent communication and cross-functional management abilities will be critical for this role.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing the full lifecycle of design, development, and execution of trainings for our Sales team aligned with company priorities and a strong focus on delivery.
- Creation and curation of high-quality internal content including instructional videos, presentations, and more.
- Aid in the execution of an engaging onboarding program for all new sales team hires.
- Focusing on outcomes and value-selling approaches to maximize customer lifetime value.
- Developing assessments to measure the effectiveness of the curriculum and learner performance, and integrating results into new and existing course curriculum.
- Creating and managing e-learning courses, certifications, and reporting within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Partnering with Sales Leaders to ensure the productivity of their teams.
- Measure program impact against agreed success metrics.
Who You Are:
- 1-3 years of experience delivering highly engaging, high impact onboarding and training for Sales teams, specifically focused on BDR and AE roles.
- Proficient in latest enablement trends, technologies, tactics, methodologies.
- Proficient in L&D principles including adult learning theory, instructional design, and technology-based learning, and skill development.
- Strong group facilitation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Relationship-builder: You should have the ability to quickly build and earn trust through deep understanding of your audience, business experience and application of best training and facilitation practices.
- Data-driven: Ability to use data to design and measure enablement.
- Strategic problem solver: you look beyond the immediate task to understand the business issue, what the organization is trying to solve for and apply the right solution.
- Must be a self-directed, self-starter, with proven success in a remote work environment.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $65,000- $90,000. In addition to salary, you are eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and PTO.
