We could have run a boring old "Legal Assistant" type of ad, but we're not looking for just a Legal Assistant. That's not how we do things here.
We're looking for our next Rock-Star Team Member - someone who has a service-oriented frame of mind; someone who enjoys learning something new every day, but also can manage the routine work that must be done to keep our cases moving forward. Someone who is motivated by their desire do the highest quality work for our clients.
Who are we?
We are a boutique law firm helping people protect family and assets through estate planning, special needs planning, probate, business formation, and elder law. That includes protecting assets from being exhausted by nursing home costs. We are based on Savannah’s south side. We have fun helping people.

Who should apply for this job?
The person we hire will have great time-management and task management skills. This job will require excellence in the following sorts of work:
- answering our phone (For many callers, you’ll be the voice of Smith Barid.)
- call screening
- scheduling appointments (This is where the accurate data-entry comes in.)
- using our web-based intake process to assure prospective and existing clients are scheduled accurately, helping us to provide consistently excellent service
- keeping attorney and staff calendars (digital) including confirming appointments and other calendar items
- email communication with potential new clients and existing clients
- greeting people who visit the firm
- making sure conference rooms are properly set up for client meetings
- monitoring and ordering supplies
- sending and sorting mail (Yes, despite our best efforts, sometimes there's still paper!)
- light typing and posting of letters/packages
- witnessing the signing of legal documents
- reviewing fee agreements with clients and collecting payment (including taking credit/debit card payments via computer)
- supporting our attorneys and staff as requested (administrative support)
- Hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 8a.m. - 5:30p.m. and Friday 8a.m. - Noon.

We offer client meetings by phone or video conference for those uncomfortable meeting in-person. We do see clients in the office. We often er masks when meeting with clients and ask that they do, as well. We also make hand sanitizer and masks available.
