What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager & Estimating Assistant position at Smith Construction, Inc?
Smith Construction, Inc is looking add to an Project Manager/Estimating Assistant to our growing team. We are looking for a reliable individual to assist in overseeing projects and supplying bids/estimates to customers.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Project layout and staking
- Assisting the primary Estimator with supplying bids/quotes to potential customers
- Reviewing change orders for projects in progress
- Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
- Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
- Coordinate and direct company employees and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
- Meet contractual condition of performance
- Review the work progress on a daily basis
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to the job status
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
- Analyze, manager and mitigate risks
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Requirements and Skills
- Proven working experience in construction management
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, mean and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Ability to plan and see the "big picture"
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Fluent in CAD software and design criteria
- Understand basic CPU programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Project, Etc.
A BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field is preferred but not required. Smith Construction, Inc is able and willing to train the ideal candidate for this position.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
