What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Coordinator position at Smith County?
The Court Coordinator assists the Court and serves the public by assisting the Judge and Court Administrator to manage, coordinate, plan and implement the operations of the County Court of Law 2.
The Court Coordinator should be customer service oriented, self-motivated, able to work efficiently with limited supervision and perform multiple tasks within designated time constraints. The ability to set and meet deadlines is critical
- Assists the CCL 2 Judge in making the court open and accessible to all litigants and other community members. Ensures that all individuals who interact with the Court are treated with respect, patience, and with attention toward quickly and efficiently meeting their needs.
- Ensures that everyone in the court establishes high standards of personal integrity, customer service, and efficiency.
- Meets responsibilities in a timely and expeditious manner.
- Looks for ways to improve efficiencies and docket management.
- Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to the public
- Must have well-developed interpersonal and time management skills, and the ability to reliably complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and respectfully with the wide variety of people who interact with the Court.
- Must have proper grammar, writing, organizational, and computer skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word
- Must be flexible to working hours as court days may start early and extend late on short notice, requiring the employee to remain on duty.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree or higher is preferred.

Daily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.
