SMX is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our enterprise and support the Cloud Business Unit. Under general supervision, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive administrative support to the daily operations among the Cloud teams. The candidate must be comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and be flexible to change. The HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of human resource systems, data, processes, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will provide customer-focused and effective human resource support while working closely with various departments throughout the enterprise to enable achievement of organizational goals and objectives. This is a local hybrid remote position available to the D/M/V local area.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to onboarding/offboarding procedures, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Assists employees and managers with career development plans.
- Assists with assigning and managing performance management tasks.
- Creates/prepares reports and analysis using the HR information systems, and other software, as required.
- Ensures legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Participates in audits, compliance reporting, and other employee related inquiries.
- Supports the development of affirmative action plans and filing of Vets 4212 and EEO-1 reports.
- Monitors employee morale and company culture.
- Supports team members when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- US citizenship required for work under DoD contracts.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years Human Resources experience required.
- Involvement with disputes/investigations (employee relations) is necessary.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software systems.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Vaccination is a requirement of the position per Executive Order 14042. If a candidate is not vaccinated, he or she may request an accommodation once offered the position.
