TITLE: Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma.
- Some specialized training in secretarial and bookkeeper skills.
- Proficient in use of computer for word processing, spreadsheet, etc
- At least two years of general office experience.
- Required score on the TABE test.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the performance responsibilities listed below.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist and manage clerical tasks for the principal so that maximum time may be devoted to administrative tasks concerned with operating a school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs general office routines such as typing, filing, placing and receiving telephone calls, greeting guests, scheduling appointments, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Secures the office in the absence of the principal.
- Assists the principal in arranging for substitutes.
- Attends to the emergency health needs of students referred to the office.
- Prepares staff and faculty absence reports.
- Collects, receipts, and deposits school monies.
- Maintains school fund accounts and bookkeeping.
- Assists with registration and processing transfer of student records, when necessary.
- Maintains student insurance rosters and assists with filing claims, if applicable.
- Assists attendance/computer clerk and clerical assistant as needed
- Other duties as requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 240 day work agreement, Salary and work year to be established by the district.
