What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Snelling?
WILL TRAIN ON FRIST SHIFT FOR 90 DAYS THEN MOVE TO 2nd SHIFT
Machine Operator will perform set ups for production runs on Turning and Machining Centers with minimum supervision. Indicating vises and loading tool changers with the proper tooling, to take a raw piece of material to a finished part. An understanding of speed and feeds and their relationship to different materials.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Able to run more than 1 machine at a time. Ensure correct material type and size is used.
Ability to perform parts inspection, hold drawing tolerances and use measuring tools.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Capable of adjusting tool offsets on 3 and 5 axis machines, downloading programs and some editing.
Maintains cohesion among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing online production and quality logs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Must pass background and drug screen.
Capable of lifting 45 pounds in a safe manner and standing for long periods of time.
Full-Time Position
NIGHT SHIFT
2:00 pm to 10:00pm
3:00 pm to 11:00pm
Flexible with 8hr time slot
