The Snohomish Community Food Bank is seeking a dynamic, experienced Executive Director who is passionate about our mission and able to lead our organization with excellence. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Food Bank operations, including fundraising, program development, financial management, and staff & volunteer supervision. The Executive Director will represent the Snohomish Community Food Bank within the Snohomish community and nurture partnerships with service clubs, schools, churches, businesses, donors and community members to serve those in need.
Our ideal candidate will be a motivational leader with a proven track record of success in nonprofit management or business management. The Executive Director will be a strategic thinker who is able to balance short-term needs with long-term planning to serve the changing needs of the Snohomish community. They will have excellent communication skills and organizational skills as they motivate and coordinate staff and over 130 volunteers and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership and Board of Director Relations
- Advocate for the interests of the community we serve, with compassion, dignity and respect
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that fulfill the mission and provide regular updates regarding the organization’s operations and performance
- Work closely with the Board Treasurer and Accountant to maintain financial records; develop and maintain annual budget and ensure taxes are filed timely and accurately
- Provide leadership and oversight of staff and volunteers to bring the Food Bank’s mission to life
- Strategic leadership to expand programs and services, working with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
- Oversee all facility, equipment, and vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Oversee all food distribution services and manage client intake, including requests, complaints, and incidences
- Manage food and product inventory, complete weekly ordering from vendors and support organizations, and manage spending against monthly budget
Strategic Engagement and Program Development
- Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy, with a focus on securing major partnerships for food donations and individual donations
- Work with the Board of Directors and other stakeholders to establish fundraising priorities and opportunities, including annual giving campaigns, special events, and grant applications
- Expand community engagement and community outreach by developing and maintaining a social media strategy and creative development plan
- Manage the day-to-day operation of programs and evaluate program outcomes, using data and feedback from stakeholders to make adjustments and improvements as needed
- Ensure that programs are implemented in accordance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Participate in newspaper/publication interviews, support press releases, and speak at public engagements
- Join and partner with other nonprofit and community events (parades, fairs, etc) to market and represent the food bank
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, business administration, social work)
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in nonprofit management or a related field
- Experience managing staff and volunteers in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial management and budgeting
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, Board of Directors, donors, community partners and other stakeholders
- Flexible schedule availability with some nights and weekends plus ability to commute to food bank in poor weather conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
- Passion for the Food Bank’s mission and values and eager to serve the community
- Pass a WA State background check prior to starting employment

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
