Supervises: Servers, Bartenders, Assistant Servers, Hosts, and Food Runners
Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
Provide supervisorial food and beverage service to the club members and guests within all outlets.
Essential Functions
Leadership
- Promotes a positive food and beverage culture.
- Responsible for opening and closing of all food and beverage outlets.
- Train and develop staff on steps of service and department standards
- Responsible for filling out and distributing the end of day report.
Service
- Provides food and beverage service according to the club’s standards.
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating, distributes menus.
- Fills glasses with ice water and suggests menu items.
- Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
- Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections.
- Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
- Removes soiled dishes. Clears tables after each course and resets them with appropriate silverware.
- Presents dessert menus, suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
- Presents the bill.
- Handles all member charges and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
- Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
- Performs assigned side work.
- Extensive menu knowledge
- Ability to perform wine service tableside
- Extensive knowledge of club steps of service
- Knowledge of beer, wine & spirits
- Receives and resolves complaints applicable to the outlet or event.
Safety and Sanitation
- Keeps all areas and outlets clean and organized.
- Clears, cleans, and resets tables that have been vacated.
- Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by management.
- Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Other Functions
- Advises management of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Ability to time the service of each course.
- Learns members’ names and their special preferences.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Assistant Food and Beverage Director, or Food and Beverage Director.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Two years of supervisor experience preferred.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Food safety certification.
- Of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Alcoholic beverage certification preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch
and twist or reach. - Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
