A Day in the Life of:

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for rebuilding Camp and Respite Programs at SOAR365. This position will provide supervision and instruction to all camp and respite staff, while also researching and implementing robust programming and engaging activities for all program participants, no matter their ability.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Leads, directs, and supervises the staff in providing a therapeutic and safe camp and respite experience.
• Assist in development of Camp and Respite reopening.
• Serves as backup Weekend Respite Supervisor during non-camp months (assist with respite staffing, check in and check out process, and ensures paperwork is accurately completed)
• Assist with Emergency Respite Process and serves as backup if needed
• Hires all camp staff and is active in recruiting process. Assist with hiring of respite staff.
• Travels abroad for recruiting fairs when feasible and attends college recruitment fairs
• Maintains relationships with recruiting organizations and colleges.
• Creates training schedule for 2 weeks of staff training. Coordinates all training with Training Coordinator.
• Creates culture with Camp and Respite staff that allows them to work directly with each other and to have a unified program.
• Assist Director with camp application process, setting session dates, and planning the camp program each year.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 4 years of education/experience in related field (rehabilitation, human services, etc.). Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Prior education or experience with persons with disabilities or medical concerns required.
• Experience supervising or leading teams in volunteer or paid capacity required.
• Certifications in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.
• Possesses strong organizational skills.
• Possesses strong leadership skills
• Ability to lead individuals, small groups and large groups of both staff and campers.
• Knowledge of programs/activities in camp and outdoor environment
• Knowledge of ACA and regulations
