Sobo & Sobo is seeking a Finance Manager to work in our Middletown, NY office and oversee our Finance Department. This is a full time opportunity offering a Monday-Friday schedule, 8:45am-5:15pm, and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k and generous PTO and Sick Time.
Job duties include:
- Overseeing a team of finance professionals.
- Creating and overseeing budgets
- Reconciling the firm’s operating and escrow accounts
- Forecasting earnings and calculating profits and losses for legal teams, office locations, and practice areas.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Performing general ledger accounting duties, such as recording journal entries and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions
- Reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Staying up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in accounting or finance
- Team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as PeopleSoft or similar systems
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and bank reconciliation
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
