Responsibilities:
- Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
- Supervise food prep and cooking
- Check food plating and temperature
- Maintain portion sizes
- Schedule kitchen staff shifts appropriately
- Assist in menu pricing in collaboration with the Culinary Operations Manager
- Order food supplies and assist with kitchen equipment needs
- Train kitchen staff on prep work
- Keep uniform food plating techniques
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
- Assist with weekly and monthly food cost reports
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
- Ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our guests have a memorable experience at Los Olivos Market.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef
- Experience in ordering, communicating with vendors, and knowledge of monthly inventory
- Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Organizational skill, as well as a problem-solving skill
- Abilities in conflict management
- Ability to manage a fast-paced work environment
- Flexibility in work schedule(evenings, weekends.)
- Food Service management certification
- Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
