Lead Cashier/Retail Associate

The Lead is a full-time position and pays $17.00/hr. during the week and $18.00/hr. on the weekends, weekends are required.  Hours for the Lead position is 11am - 7:30pm

The Lead  is responsible for overseeing assigned departments and assisting customers and store associates in the retail store.     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:                                                                      

1. Leading other associates in their designated work area.
2. Responsible for the accuracy of cash register entries; no excess overages/shortages. Manage cash, responsible for daily cash reconciliations, and deposits.   
3. Responsible for ensuring that production is completed properly, that adequate saleable merchandise is placed into the store.
4. Understanding and following the donation process.
5. Handle minor day-to-day scheduling of team.
6. Independently delegate tasks and responsibilities to store associates.
7. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly production area with safety practices enforced. 
8. Perform store opening closing procedures in the absence of the store manager or assistant manager.                                                             
9. Responsible for maintaining excellent and courteous relations with customers in the retail store and for providing good customer service when receiving donations.  
10. Must be able to perform light maintenance (change tape in cash register, etc.)

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including phones, registers and PC as required. 
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store as required.
• Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.  Associates who work in production/warehouse must have the ability to regularly push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds while working both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
• Flexibility to adapt and change duties as needed by the store management.
