Phipps Conservatory Botanical Gardens Information:

A green oasis in the middle of Pittsburgh's vibrant Oakland neighborhood, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has provided a world-class garden experience to its visitors since 1893. Explore the beauty and wonders of nature at Phipps, encompassing 15 acres including a 14-room glasshouse and 23 distinct gardens. Experience industry-leading sustainable architecture and green practices, stunning seasonal flower shows, exclusive commissioned exhibits, renowned orchid and bonsai collections and more.

Job Description: This role involves overseeing the beverage service operations, managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement beverage programs, including menus, specials, promotions, and signature cocktails.
• Supervise and train beverage service staff, including bartenders, servers, and barbacks, ensuring adherence to service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Schedule staff, assign duties, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to optimize performance.
• Interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and soliciting feedback to continuously improve service quality.
• Monitor beverage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and place orders to replenish supplies as needed.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of beverages served, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks, by overseeing preparation methods, ingredient sourcing, and presentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role in the food and beverage industry, with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
• Extensive knowledge of beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as familiarity with industry trends, brands, and product offerings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests, staff, and vendors.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and other technology tools used in beverage service operations.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol)
