Sodexo is currently seeking a dynamic Food Operations Manager 1/Dining Room Manager to join our Food Service Team at The Towers of Laguna Woods Village in Laguna Woods, California. This position will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible for the execution of day to day dining room operations and catering for resident dining at this outstanding community.
The successful candidate will:
- provide hands on leadership and direction for 25 employees in the front of the house dining and catering operations;
- be tasked with employee scheduling, payroll and other employee relations responsibilities;
- lead, direct and train employees to continually improve performance and customer satisfaction;
- manage all dining events with enthusiasm while providing hands-on guidance during resident and client functions in order to produce outstanding dining experiences;
- drive resident satisfaction through offering superior service.

- have experience with food service operations in a restaurant, hotel, resort or senior living environment;
- are experienced in supervising a food service team and have exceptional human resource and supervisory/management/training skillset;
- have a background in catering, including menu planning, event set up, and food presentation;
- are able to effectively communicate to multiple audiences and develop strong relationships with customers at all levels;
- can multitask and have proven effectiveness in a fast paced environment.
- possess a strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, inventory and labor management concepts;
- have excellent computer skills as well as exceptional organizational and customer services skills;
- are Servsafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.

Position Summary
Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment
- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention
- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan
- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
