Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

SoftLite, LLC is seeking a dynamic EH&S Manager for our manufacturing operations. This is a great opportunity for an experienced EH&S leader to join our growing team and take ownership in improving the health and safety of our employees.

SoftLite, a business unit of Cornerstone Building Brands, manufactures premium vinyl replacement windows. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality, energy-efficient windows and doors that are ENERGY STAR® certified to meet the needs of homeowners.

The EH&S Manager position will lead Streetsboro, Ohio Safety and Environmental initiatives to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement of safety and environmental metrics. Including but not limited to:

· Injury reduction

· Focus on Hazard Reduction and Improved Safety Behaviors

· Compliance to all EH&S regulations

· Transition to leading indicator versus lagging

· Integration of EH&S in all processes

· Total associate involvement and ownership at all levels

· Implement visual daily management

This role reports to the VP of Operations with responsibilities to onsite leadership. This role will have direct collaboration with Director of Manufacturing, Value Stream Managers, and other operational leaders, along with Maintenance, Quality, Lean and Process Engineers. The candidate will be a key contributor, driving safety improvements and playing a pivotal role in assessing EH&S tools and processes to be launched across the organization.

Preferred candidates are bilingual (English/Spanish) with a strong aptitude for problem solving, lean or continuous improvement background and dynamic skills in building trust through the engagement of the workforce.

The focus of this role is to reduce recordable injuries and to continuously improve the Safety Culture for SoftLite. Implement health & safety tools and processes to manage business and facilitate improvement at all levels.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline

· 5 years EH&S field

· 3 years manufacturing experience in a lean manufacturing principle, preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS:

· “Go to Gemba” mentality, hands-on

· Excellent Organization skills, including recordkeeping and reporting

· Strong manufacturing/operations background

· Excellent computer skills required

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

· Strong communication skills & positive interpersonal and facilitation skills; with emphasis on presentation and written/verbal communication skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel is needed

· Proven experience in influencing, leading cross functional teams and driving change results. Capable of adjusting to situation or audience.

· Workplace safety, team building and financial awareness
