What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bell Person position at Soho Grand Hotel?
The Soho Grand is looking for friendly, outgoing, customer service professional to join our team. The Guest Service Provider candidate will be able to perform both doorman and bellman responsibilities. Some overnights required.
Job Functions:
1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
2. Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
3. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
4. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
5. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
6. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.
7. Greet arriving guests/visitors; bid farewell to departing guests/visitors and invite them to return.
8. Assist guests with loading/unloading luggage into and out of their vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
Ability to:
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Prioritize and organize.
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
- Follow directions thoroughly.
- Understand guest's service needs.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Requirements:
- Open availability, including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs as the job requires handling guest luggage
- Strong customer service and knowledge of the Downtown Tribeca/Soho neighborhoods
- Team player with great attitude
- Comfortable with standing for long periods of time while outside
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
