The Role…
At Soho House, the Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the beverage operation and bar team to ensure optimal staff/guest experience and budget is achieved. As, the Bar Manager you will promote and grow the bar, hire and train bar staff, and ensure that members / guests receive top quality drinks and service. A Bar Manager, will also manage inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize member / guest satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining and delivering consistent results and opportunities to increase sales. Observant and can think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills, and have a passion for all thing’s beverage!
Main Duties
- Manage a safe, productive and positive work environment by overseeing an efficient bar operation and process is followed to ensure optimal staff / guest experience and revenue generation
- Organize regular team meetings, trainings (House Tonic), educational opportunities to develop and strengthen product knowledge and steps of service while keeping communication open, concise, constructive and timely
- Partner with Bars Manager (regionally / nationally) to leverage vendor relationships and minimize margins to maximize profits
- Delegate inventory management, staff schedule and purchasing to Bar Assistant Manager
- Adhere to all legal requirements (I.e. Wage and Hour/Breaks, Health and Safety, etc.) as well as schedule staff, manage labor, payroll, staff complaints and disciplinary procedures as well as performance and appraisals
- Quality control and consistency is maintained throughout menu creation, updates and seasonally influenced items are up to date, correct and staff is trained on discussing new / existing options with guests
- Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development
- Participate as an active member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.
- Oversee daily/shift schedules; make any necessary changes per business need and budget.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Must have 5 years supervising and managing a high-volume F&B operation
- Proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation
- Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented with excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills
- Must be proficient in the use of MICROS (or similar POS), Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must have experience managing P&L’s, supervisory, coaching and staff development experience
- A four-year Degree in Hospitality and/or Restaurant Management preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

Salary : $63,900 - $80,900
