The role:
Join the platform engineering team and help make an impact on Sojern’s bottom line. Each engineer in the team owns highly visible revenue producing features of our Sojern Travel Platform. You will be responsible for taking new features from inception to execution in partnership with Product, Data Science, SRE and Ops teams. We are looking for engineers who are quick learners and are not afraid of multiple deployments in a day (except for Friday!)
We are open to fully remote candidates for this role, with a preference towards candidates located near or within the San Francisco, CA metro area, where candidates would have the option to work remote or hybrid.
Responsibilities:
Design high performance, low latency systems and lead the development of them.
We follow agile practices and advocate for improvements in code and culture. We expect you to be able to do the same.
Deal with complex systems while helping the rest of the team navigate ambiguity in requirements
What you bring to the table:
A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years or a Master’s degree and 2 years of experience or a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
Production experience in one or more of: Go, Python, Javascript, Typescript.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes. Experience with Terraform and Kustomize desirable.
Excellent grasp of CS fundamentals - data structures and algorithms.
Experience with Distributed Systems (PubSub, MQTT, etc).
Experience with REST, gRPC, and/or GraphQL APIs–consumption and creation.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
