Position Overview:
Solid Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The preferred candidate for this position will have experience in a laboratory setting and experience with materials characterization tools.
Job Duties:
- Document and follow standard sample preparation and testing procedures for Solid Power’s analytical equipment, may include BET, TGA, DSC, XRD, FTIR, Karl Fisher, particle size analysis, or other techniques as appropriate.
- May assist in more specialized analytical testing, both at Solid Power and in partnership with Solid Power’s contractors/consultants/partners.
- Run small-scale synthesis or other use-test experiments to evaluate incoming raw materials for specification and CTQ determination.
- Maintain lab equipment, benchtop, and glovebox space in clean and proper working conditions.
- Work closely with R&D and production teams to ensure analytical testing procedures provide sufficient and timely feedback.
- Work closely with Sr. Quality Specialist to document test procedures, design experimentation, and analyze experimental data.
- Assist in documenting and completing calibration and/or maintenance of lab equipment.
- Write procedures, contribute to technical reports, specification setting, CTQ determination, and deliver other requested technical data as required.
- Use the company’s document and serial/tracking system to properly archive technical documentation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a lab or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with structured problem solving and analysis techniques such as Design of Experiments.
- Hands-on experience working with various analytical tools, including BET, particle size analysis, XRD, FTIR, TGA, DSC, Karl Fisher.
- Experience in inorganic chemistry and/or method development is desirable.
- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working with hazardous materials.
- The candidate must be responsible and self-motivated, with a history of stable employment and performance.
- The candidate may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000/year
