JOB/POSITION OVERVIEW
Oversees the training program, scheduling of training, new hire orientation, and client/family special events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education
College training in Mental Health; Bachelors’ degree required.
4 years working with youth.
3 years RTC work experience
At least 25 years of age
CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

JOB RESPONSIBLIITIES
To demonstrate commitment and responsibilities in completing all job duties including:
- Oversee, schedule, and conduct the training program for all new and current Solstice East staff to include orientation, in-services and annual trainings.
- Provide input to the Program Director the design and update of training materials to include Mentor Manual and Student Handbook, as well as other materials utilized in trainings
- Spend time working in the milieu (min of 20hrs a week), rotating between teams to provide guidance and training to mentors and new hires. (Mentor to the Mentors)
- Schedule and initiate monthly Emergency drills.
- Develop and facilitate new trainings as needed with Program Director and Leaderships approval
- Collaborate with Team Leadership in recognition and appreciation events to improve morale of the department
- Support Team Managers in filling holes when necessary
- Assist Program Director in Residential retreat
- Coordinate Travel and Transportation for LOA’s
- Oversee development and facilitation of alternate schedules, special events and holidays
- Work closely with Clinical Director in the development and implementation of all parent events including family/parent seminar
- Meet as needed with Clinical Director to share observations and potential clinical and programmatic training needs (ex. Pressure continuum, de escalation training, crisis plan etc)
- Attends all required trainings and staff meetings as directed by supervisor
- Assisting Admissions director with new family and EC tours
- Facilitate exit surveys of all mentor staff and provide feedback to leadership regarding trends and necessary training.
- Creates and facilitates monthly morale committee, working within budgetary guidelines for things such as staff appreciation and outings
- Completes other duties as assigned or delegated by Program Director that are important and necessary in the operation of the program

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work includes active movement around facility and on off campus activities. Staff must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp. Ability to run 400 meters in 2 ½ minutes or less. Must have ability to express and exchange ideas via spoke word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, and sometimes quickly and loudly. Hearing to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than 40 db loss @Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires a minimal standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe residents on the unit and in therapeutic activities. Must be able to stand up and move around 95% of shift.
