Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals (“Solutions”) is a dynamic and thriving organization that provides mental health and human services in Minnesota and North Dakota. We have a state of the art autism program, aptly named Autism Innovation in Motion (AIM), and are proud to offer our clients and families the best care. We are seeking applicants for Advanced Behavior Interventionist positions within this program. Many of our Advanced Behavior Interventionists are working towards becoming BCBAs.

 

WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?

This position oversees the provision of intensive one-to-one and group therapy to children with autism under our Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention program. Children with autism tend to learn in unique ways. For that reason, consistency is highly important. We use an ABA model of intervention, as this is considered best practice. This position provides observation and direction of programming, bringing leadership to improve learning efficiencies and achieve outcomes that are important to families. This position works under the supervision of the BCBA. It assists in treatment planning and management of outcome data. It provides some direct ABA intervention to children. The position works primarily on-site at Solutions’ developmental clinic, though some services may occur in-home or other community settings as a means of promoting generalization of learning.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention is utilized to assist children with autism learn language, cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor and communication development. Individual treatment plans are developed and overseen by an assigned specialist. The Advanced Behavior Interventionist brings leadership to the staff. It oversees and implements programming and records progress using advanced technology. This allows progress to be clearly visible, allowing better treatment decisions.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Solutions is looking for professionals with advanced education and experience as related to treatment of autism. Eligible individuals have a master’s degree in a human service field or are in a master’s program of this nature. Holding a BCBA credential and two years of experience would additionally qualify an applicant for this position.

We need someone with is adept at connecting with children and families in a culturally competent manner, someone who is energetic, kind, and patient. An ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn specialized ABA intervention skills and to grow in their position. They are willing to provide leadership, in that they can give helpful feedback to others implementing interventions, for maximal effectiveness. They would have the skills to work in a brisk clinic setting. Successful individuals are self-starters, team players, and desire to make a difference. A qualified applicant would understand the importance of data-based treatment planning and utilization of consistent ABA strategies. The position also requires the capacity to conceptualize cases and plan for effective treatment. The individual hired for this position must pass a criminal background check.

We provide supervision to employees who are students and behavior analysts in training to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts within our organization, and provide a BCBA position for them following their certification process.
