Sompo is offering a distinctive opportunity for a Senior Global HR Data Analyst within our Talent Management Center of Excellence, situated in our Global Human Resources team.


The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a diverse skill set, encompassing proficiency in mining and manipulating extensive and diverse datasets, mastery of data software and visualization tools, and a knack for crafting compelling narratives from data insights. Additionally, collaboration and relationship-building are essential traits, as the candidate will need to work closely with various teams and stakeholders to effectively leverage data for informed decision-making.


Location: This position will be a hybrid role based out of our Boston, MA, Morristown, NJ, Purchase NY, Alpharetta, GA or Charlotte, NC offices.

What you’ll be doing:


Advanced Analysis:

Conducting analysis of HR data using statistical methodologies such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and machine learning algorithms. You'll uncover nuanced patterns, correlations, and trends within HR datasets to extract actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives.


Data Visualization and Reporting:

Harnessing the power of visualization tools like Workday Discovery Boards, Tableau or Power BI to create visually compelling dashboards and reports. Your aim is to translate complex analytical findings into easily understandable visual narratives, empowering HR professionals and key stakeholders to make informed decisions.


Communication and Storytelling:

You'll articulate complex analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner, tailoring communication to resonate with diverse audiences across the organization. Developing visually engaging presentations and reports will distill complex insights into actionable recommendations, facilitating data-driven decision-making.


Technology and Tools:

Staying at the forefront of HR analytics tools, you'll evaluate and implement software solutions to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities. Ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and data privacy regulations is crucial to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive employee data throughout the analytics process.


Collaboration and Consultation:

Fostering collaborative partnerships with HR stakeholders, key internal partners, vendors, and business leaders is key. By understanding their unique requirements, you'll provide tailored analytical guidance and translate business challenges into actionable analytical approaches, delivering insights that drive outcomes and inform strategic direction.


Staying Updated on Industry Trends:

Maintaining a pulse on industry trends and emerging best practices in people analytics is essential. You'll proactively incorporate innovative techniques to enhance analytical capabilities and contribute to thought leadership within the field of HR analytics, continuously elevating the organization's analytical maturity.


What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.


  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in HR analytics, data analysis, or a similar role, with a demonstrated track record of manipulating and analyzing large datasets.


  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages and data visualization tools (e.g., Workday Discovery Boards, Tableau, Power BI).


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.


  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to convey complex data insights to diverse audiences in a clear and compelling manner.


  • Proven experience in strategic planning and project management, with the ability to balance long-term vision with tactical execution.
  • Proficiency in establishing and developing analytics functions, coupled with a strong aptitude for influencing stakeholders across all levels. Demonstrated ability to excel in dynamic, collaborative environments, adeptly managing multiple priorities and stakeholders with efficiency."

Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
