Sales Engineer
Reports to Chief Commercial Officer
Role Overview
In this role, you will be helping to trail blaze the company's growth. Sales engineers bridge the gap between product development and the sales team, using their specialized knowledge to help with new client acquisition.
Working alongside the sales team through the entire life-cycle of the sales process, you will be leading technical discussions and preparing Statement of Work (SOW) documents to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
To be successful as a sales engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's products and services, as well as general knowledge about the ISP industry and common network implementations. You should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
- Preparing and developing technical presentations to explain our company's products or services to customers.
- Discussing needs and requirements with customers and engineers.
- Collaborating with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
- Researching, developing, and tailoring solutions to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
- Soliciting and logging client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
- Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper management.
- Setting and achieving sales goals and quotas.
- Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and services.
Requirements
- Experience being part of, or regularly interfacing with a sales organization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A large part of this role is communicating across internal departments and interfacing with customers on a regular basis.
- A strong technical background in a related field (networking, SAAS, software, etc.)
- Experience with or knowledge of the implementation of common ISP platforms – for example, fixed wireless distribution, fiber-optic distribution systems (PON, WDM), cable distribution systems (DOCSIS, CMTS), DSL systems (DSLAM).
- An understanding of common software solutions implemented in ISP networks, such as RADIUS, Diameter, DPI.
- Experience with or knowledge of the use of APIs for integrating systems together.
