Job Summary
This position sells electrical products, solutions, and services relating to the goods and supplies needed for power distribution within commercial, contractor, and industrial establishments or individuals at the sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages a set of customer accounts and strategically prospects for new accounts, and the solicitation of new sales.
- Provides valuable service and consultation to customers by providing electrical solutions, goods, and services.
- Learns and evaluates customer operations in effort to build and maintain trusted customer relationships and meet their objectives and requirements.
- Be familiar with Irby's product portfolio, preferred vendors, manufacturers, and services and solutions offered within local sales territory.
- Estimates date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Assist in collections of accounts and be knowledgeable concerning credit status and procedures with the customer.
- Prepare accurate and up-to-date customer relationship management files for each customer and/or create an accurate customer relationship management system for each customer.
- Develops relationships with key vendors in assigned electrical markets and promotes and features key vendor products through joint sales calls and promotions.
- Sells and promotes branch and company-wide promotions.
- Finding resolutions to sensitive situations that arise between customers and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, as well as draw and interpret bar graphs, calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
