What you will do:
This is an Outside Technical Specialist position in which you will be providing customer business outcomes and solutions to internal and external customers on automation applications and related services. This position involves working closely with end users, system integrators, OEM's, engineering consulting firms and electrical contractors, at local high-tech customers to get our products specified for use. We will provide extensive training opportunities on ail products and applications.
- A single point of contact for the Rockwell Business Unit
- Perform as marketing/product manager for the Automation Technical Segment products and related services including:
- Controllers
- HMI
- Networks
- Factory Automation Software
- Develop marketing and business plans, technical promotional activities, and support market objectives
- Work with both internal and external customers on technical and product training, product selection, and pre/post sales support
- Quotation preparation, including development of material for the Automation Technical Segment products and related services
- Work closely with manufacturer sales engineers, and engineering consultants to get Rockwell Automation and North Coast products and services specified
- Play an active role in engaging with customers’ buying behavior, becoming and intrinsic part of the customers’ future designs
- Maintain a Sales Funnel to accomplish sales goals or meet sales growth objectives for the Automation Technical Segment
- Responsible for driving business strategies to accelerate growth in the Automation Technical Segment
- The Automation Specialist will be the technical and commercial liaison between Rockwell Automation and North Coast, providing marketing and commercial leadership for sales growth, responsibility for supporting the commercial plan for these businesses and taking a lead role in developing a competency plan to ensure support functions (inside/outside sales) are adequately prepared to maximize share gain for these businesses
What you will bring:
- Understanding of existing market, trends, and competitive landscape
- Electrical background and motor control experience
- Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC product experience
- Desire to further develop understanding of Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation products and service offerings
- College degree, technical diploma/degree or equivalent related experience
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- People oriented and a team player
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Professional office environment
- Frequent computer and telephone use
- Frequent driving and good driver’s record
- Occasional lifting of up-to 30lbs.
