Pastry Chef FT
As a Pantry Chef at the Depot Restaurant, you will be responsible for the preparation of cold dishes and ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. You will collaborate closely with our culinary team to contribute to menu development and maintain our reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of cold dishes, including salads, sandwiches, and hors d'oeuvres, according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pantry area, including proper storage of ingredients and regular cleaning of equipment.
- Collaborate with the head chef and sous chefs to develop new menu items and seasonal specials, with a focus on cold offerings.
- Ensure that all cold dishes meet our quality standards in terms of taste, appearance, and portion size.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of cold dishes as part of larger meals or events.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed, including food preparation for hot dishes and general cleaning tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a pantry chef or garde manger chef in a high-volume restaurant or culinary environment.
- Proficiency in cold food preparation techniques, including slicing, dicing, and plating.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence, with a willingness to contribute ideas to menu development.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
