Project Manager

Job Description:
We are searching for a highly skilled Project Manager to contribute to Sonwil’s growth and help us maintain our position as a leader in our industry. The ideal candidate will have warehouse and distribution experience as well as strong work plan development and progress oversight skills. This individual will be expected to prepare and present progress updates to appropriate stakeholders on a regular basis, ensuring the innovation we seek is being achieved. The successful candidate will also have demonstrable experience utilizing Lean methodologies in project management.

Duties and responsibilities

• Project scoping, resource planning, team assembly and management of all new and existing projects relating to warehousing and distribution. This will include operational projects, data analytics, as well as client projects that involve IT.
• Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
• To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments
• Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
• Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
• Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
• Review SDC’s project management goals at a holistic level to drive process improvement & normalization across the company.
• Be the company’s designated Lean Champion and lead/manage the Lean Advisory Committee that reports to the Lean Steering Committee.
• Participate in the Executive Lean Steering Committee as a member.
• Work in conjunction with the Vice President, Operations to identify and execute ongoing project management/problem-solving efforts.
• Lead all project management-related training initiatives.

• Draft project management-related policies/SOP’s in support of departmental/company goals.
• Lead all project management efforts for Sonwil’s Pallet Shuttle (Four Square) facility.
• Collaborate with leaders of other Sonwil divisions on Enterprise-wide Lean initiatives.

Qualifications*

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
• Five (5) years’ experience in a project management role.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
• Strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

• Strong proficiency drafting & implementing SOP’s that drive quality improvement.
• Critical thinker sees the "big picture" and can identify and develop business & personnel opportunities.
• Experience implementing & managing Lean operating disciplines.
• Knowledgeable of food safety/certified warehouse environment preferred.
• Natural leader, trainer & mentor.
