Emergency Shelter Aide
Hour requirements: part-time (early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts available)
About us: We are a nonprofit located in Pierre, SD, with the goal of providing services meant to protect and serve children and their families that have been affected by child abuse and/or neglect in our community.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- No prior Child Abuse and Neglect charges
- No prior felonies
- Must have a valid driver’s license
As an Emergency Shelter Aide, you will:
- Work with children who have experienced trauma
- Handle crisis situations
- Care for children ranging from ages 0-17
- Watch up to 8 children at one time
- Follow a daily routine for children
- Do minor cleaning and laundry
- Cook and/or prepare meals for children
- Administer medication as needed and document it
- Help with bath time when needed (when we have children 6 years old and younger)
- Put children to bed
- Provide transportation for children with agency vehicle when needed
A qualified candidate will have:
- Experience caring for children between the ages of 0-17 years old.
- Experience caring for or working with children who have been exposed to child abuse and/or neglect.
- The capability to watch multiple children at a time.

Benefits:
- Hourly pay rate of $17
- Flexible hours

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
