Our partner, a leader in renewable energy development, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Development Manager - BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) to join their team. Role Overview:

As the Senior Development Manager - BESS, you will be instrumental in driving the development and execution of BESS projects across the US. This critical role involves overseeing all phases of project development, from initial site selection to final execution. Your strategic insight and operational expertise will be pivotal in meeting the growing energy demands and enhancing grid reliability through cutting-edge storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Direct the development of BESS projects from initial concept through to execution, ensuring all stages align with strategic objectives.
• Site Acquisition and Permitting: Lead efforts in site identification, land acquisition, and securing necessary permits, focusing on projects in NJ, NY, and New England.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, government officials, and environmental experts, to facilitate smooth project development.
• Team Coordination: Manage internal and external teams to advance permitting, interconnection, and engineering activities, ensuring projects reach Notice to Proceed (NTP) status.
• Market and Regulatory Analysis: Stay abreast of evolving market dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes in target markets to inform project strategies.
• Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and oversee project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project progression.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Drive the creation and implementation of best practices for energy storage development, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough project due diligence for commercial and M&A activities, supporting internal investment approvals and preparing necessary board materials.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in energy project development, with a proven track record in successfully delivering complex projects.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, both internal and external, to achieve project goals.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to assess project viability, manage budgets, and forecast financial outcomes.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
• Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and making informed decisions with limited information on tight timelines.
• Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to support project permitting and development activities, with travel varying up to 35% in the first year.
• (Preferred) Familiarity with BESS Technologies: Understanding of energy storage technologies and their deployment.
