Position Overview: The LMS Administrator at South College will be responsible for configuration, security, and integration of the school’s LMS software. This role will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, architect solutions, and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that drive efficiency and effectiveness. The central system for which this position will be responsible is Canvas.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and customize the LMS to meet organizational needs, including system settings, user management, permissions, reporting, automated workflows, and integration with other systems.
Partner with Academic and Instructional Design teams to gather and analyze requirements, identify application needs, and recommend suitable solutions.
Customize and configure off-the-shelf applications and software solutions to meet specific business requirements, leveraging APIs and integration tools.
Implement and manage application integrations between different systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and system administrators, to implement and optimize business applications.
Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of applications.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and training to end-users on application functionality and best practices.
Document system configurations, integration points, and processes to ensure clarity and maintainability of business applications.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in application development and business process automation.
Participate in ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and enhancement of existing business applications to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience and certifications.
3 to 5 years Canvas LMS experience.
Experience with security and privacy along with production systems & platforms.
Experience with database software, Excel, and data analytics tools.
Proven experience as a LMS administrator, or similar role, with a focus on application development and integration.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, .Net
Experience working with business applications and systems such as ERP, CRM, LMS, or SIS.
Familiarity with application integration technologies and protocols, including RESTful APIs, SOAP, and ETL tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
