Jackrabbit Central on the campus of South Dakota State University (SDSU) is offering an exciting career opportunity as Retail Operations Manager. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join us in working with the Director to manage all retail components for three of Jackrabbit Central’s locations. The Retail Operations Manager will oversee financial transactions and will work with the Director to achieve financial objectives. This position will work with vendors to design and order merchandise such as novelty items and clothing, establishes pricing schedules, assures adequate inventory stock levels, plans promotions, coordinates merchandising displays, and oversees the receiving of merchandise. Further, this position supervises all front-end operations of a high-volume retail sales stores to ensure the provision of excellent customer service by setting goals, determining staffing levels, and providing necessary training and supervision of employees. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Retail Operations Manager will work with the Director to manage all retail and operational components for 3 locations to include the Campus location, Downtown location and Dykhouse Stadium Store. This position will supervise the Course Materials Specialist and the Customer Service Supervisor to maintain a high level of customer service, as well as maintaining adequate quantity and quality academic materials.
SALARY RANGE:
The salary range for this position is $59,640-$71,610. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available according to the university’s guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Consumer Affairs or related field completed by start date.
- At least two years of retail experience.
- Highly organized and self-motivated with attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers and all levels of management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to resolve complaints and problems as they arise.
- Ability to train, coach and develop a staff of student associates.
- Ability to delegate and follow through on projects in a timely manner.
- Desire to take an active role in one’s development; and
- Experience with education materials, sourcing and sales.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
