Call Center Representative

The Call Center Representative is responsible for making and scheduling future patient appointments. They are also responsible for providing professional customer service by obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insurance information. Medical experience preferred, but is not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Answer phones timely and in a prompt, professional and polite manner

· Handle inquiries about accepted insurances, office hours, services, locations, exams or self- pay fees, physician information, etc.

· Triage all calls

· Monitors and answers the Referring Physician Line

· Document all calls to staff/physicians with a call back note

· Notifies the Patient Service Representative of daily cancellations

· Schedule appointments accordingly (reschedules, recalls, cancellations)

· Works in conjunctions with the triage representative to accommodate scheduling requests

· Verify all patient information and enters new insurance and demographics; updates patient information, in computer system to maintain accuracy for Billing

· Request records (if not already available) from referring physicians two days prior for all new patients

· All New Patients added to Advanced MD at time of schedule

· Fax office notes requested from referring physicians

· Referrals for any and all patient accounts received noted and scanned

· Knowledge at all times of physicians schedules and on call schedules

· All patients with a balance will be notified at point of call

· Prepares and mails New Patient Package, Yearly Update Packets and Recall Letters

· Attends staff meetings as required

· Maintains strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

· Performs other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Able to read, write and communicate and present a neat professional appearance

· Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in a customer service environment preferred

· Experience with computers

· Word processing and computer experience a must

· Must be organized and detail oriented

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
