A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
- Develop and maintain relationships with other departments, such as Standards, Construction Methods, DIMP, Training, District Planning, and Central Design.
- Act as the internal and external customer Quality Control liaison, including presenting monthly inspection results, and managing warranty resolution with contractors and SCE management.
- Act as the authority on industry standards related to pole loading & the planning of distribution work orders.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain inspector training and performing inspector testing and certification.
- Manage assigned programs, including developing project plans for program implementation, documenting work processes, developing training, and developing program policies and procedures.
- Establish processes to ensure that SCE and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) standards are followed.
- Participate in Peer Review and Checkpoint process.
- Maintain the Quality Control (QC) procedures manuals.
- Advise QC Inspectors on technical decision making.
- Develop and deliver presentations to Transmission & Distribution stakeholders and contractor management.
The essentials
- Seven years of experience performing analysis and providing recommendations on Electric Utility facilities or equipment.
- Two or more years of experience in inspections, electrical planning or related electrical utility field experience.
The preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with quality standards, such as ISO-9001, ISO-55001, etc.
- Two or more years of experience collecting field measurements related to pole loading.
- Proficient with MS Access and SAP.
- Experience performing close tolerance measurements with optical and/or laser measurements tools.
- Experience working with Quality principles and practices as they relate to field observations, field assessment, and record keeping.
- Experience developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs and performing inspector testing and certification.
- Experience planning and developing Distribution work orders.
- Knowledge of and experience working with accident prevention manuals, electric transmission and distribution design standards, CPUC G.O 95, 128 and 165 and the related operations and maintenance manuals.
- Experience acting as an internal and external customer quality control liaison, including presenting monthly inspection results, and managing warranty resolution with contractors and management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

- Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
