Correctional Nursing offers opportunities to care for a variety of patient needs. While one moment you may be at the main jail seeing acute patient intakes, monitoring detox, and chronic care needs at other times you will be simply be responsible for handling the less urgent needs of patients housed at the annex facility. Sometimes you are an ER Nurse and others you are at the doctor’s office. Autonomy and Balance will be a key part of your role should you seek to become an integral part of the team at Wayne Co.

Location: Wayne County Detention Center
Open Position: FT RN Medical Team Administrator
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a - 4:30p
Duties & qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Must have strong leadership skills to manage and evaluate the medical program’s activities
- Excellent communication skills required to function as a liaison between correctional officials, public agencies & SHP management, as well as site nurses & patients
- Must be able to prioritize and have strong organizational skills to provide medical care & perform administrative duties, along with the ability to adjust quickly as circumstances dictate
- Deliver patient care, evaluate symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients, chart results
- Follow through with established treatment plans
- Perform emergency intervention, physical assessment and critical thinking
