What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Supervisor I position at Southern Hydro Vac?
The Field Supervisor is responsible for the organization and management of the field crews.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Daily:
Safety Tailgate meetings
Tailgate meeting to be conducted in the mornings prior to the dispersal of crews. Supervisor will also be responsible of ensuring that all crews working out of town conduct their safety tailgate meeting as well.
Crew readiness
Ensure all crews are ready for the job that they are about to go begin. This includes having the correct tools as well as any specialty tools that the job may require. This also includes ensuring the professionalism of the crews and equipment (housekeeping).
Crew Safety Compliance
Audit crews daily to make sure they have all required PPE and other safety equipment prior to and during field work.
Crew Management
Follow crews into the field daily to ensure job performance and offer assistance.
Training
Facilitate new and ongoing training of the crews in the field. This includes but is not limited to daily operations as well as specialty training that may be required for specific jobs. This also includes any corrective training requested form office admin or management.
Daily Report
Throughout each day the supervisor will be tracking crews that he/she visits, keeping notes for discussion with upper management upon the end of day.
Maintain Professionalism
The supervisor is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manor at all times as well as the crews.
Return of crews
Ensure that all crews are back from the field at the intended time.
Weekly:
Production Audit
Conduct audits regarding each individual crews performance and productivity. When issues are identified, the supervisor will propose a corrective action plan.
Schedule
Before the beginning of each week, the supervisor will create a schedule for the crews. The schedule will consist of but not limited to: crew location, project name, expected duration, etc.
Individual Crew meetings
Once a week the supervisor will conduct meetings with a selected crew to offer assistance where needed to promote growth and moral.
Monthly:
Truck Equipment Audit
Monthly, the supervisor will inspect each truck and equipment to ensure the truck is complete.
Customer Changes
Communicate changes at the request of our clients to the field and ensure they are being executed. (This may be more frequent.)
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the company’s operational needs.
Qualifications
Minimal requirements include:
Five (5) or more years of experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Microsoft Office proficiency required (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree and seven or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Above-average customer service and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Capable of working under time constraints to ensure critical deadlines are met.
